KSTAR UPS systems
Online UPS systems and batteries, and the factors that determine the correct configuration.
What we supply
Single-phase online UPS for servers, network cabinets and instrumentation
Battery blocks sized to the required autonomy
Monitoring and shutdown signalling where the load must close down cleanly
Configuration inputs
Measured load in watts, not the sum of nameplate ratings
Required autonomy in minutes
Ambient temperature of the UPS location, which strongly affects battery life
Whether a generator supplies the site, and how the UPS behaves on it
Whether the UPS must signal equipment to shut down
Why autonomy is the usual source of disappointment
Backup time is set by the battery, not by the UPS rating. Capacity falls as load and temperature rise and as the battery ages, so the autonomy at installation is not the autonomy in year five. It is worth specifying on that basis from the start.
