Maintenance and servicing

What preventive maintenance covers, and why it is cheaper than corrective work.

Preventive maintenance

Battery capacity and condition testing, and replacement planning

Thermal inspection of connections and terminations

Cleaning and inspection of equipment, filters and ventilation paths

Functional testing of protection and control functions

For fire systems, detector and interface testing with recorded results

Verification that earthing and bonding remain intact

Why it matters on power equipment

Most UPS failures at the moment of need are battery failures. Most protection failures are connection failures. Both are detectable months in advance by routine testing, and both are expensive when discovered during an outage.

Corrective service

After-sales service requests are responded to around the clock. Where a fault is reported, the first step is to establish whether the load is still protected and to restore protection if it is not.
