PowerScale UPS

A modular UPS topology for larger installations.

What modular means

In a modular UPS the power conversion is divided into identical modules in a shared frame. Capacity can be added by fitting modules, and a single module can be removed and replaced without taking the whole system out of service.

Why that matters

The initial installation can be sized for today’s load and expanded later.

A failed module is replaceable without a full shutdown.

Maintenance can be carried out on one module while the load remains protected.

Redundancy can be provided by fitting more modules than the load requires.

What to establish when specifying

The present load and the expected growth

The redundancy required — whether the system must tolerate one module failing

The battery autonomy required

Whether the modules are hot-swappable in the configuration proposed
