Voltage stabilizer selection and specification
How regulator capacity, type and correction range are chosen, and what sets the cost.
This page was a price list
The legacy version of this page published a price list. Prices are not reproduced here: brief §30 requires commercial data to come from supplied current sources, and the legacy figures carried no validity date. Send us your requirement for a current quotation.
How capacity is chosen
The rating follows the load: the sum of the connected load in kVA, adjusted for starting current, power factor and any spare capacity the client wants to carry. Selecting on nominal load alone is the most common cause of a regulator that trips when a motor starts.
How the correction range sets the cost
A regulator designed to correct a wide input swing needs a larger regulating transformer and a more capable servo or static stage than one correcting a narrow band. The measured voltage range at the site therefore drives the price more than the kVA rating does.
Type
Servo-motor regulators for wide correction range and larger ratings
Static or electronic regulators for faster response at lower ratings
Single or three phase depending on the load
What to send us
The measured input voltage range
Connected load and the nature of the load
Single or three phase, and whether the load is balanced
The output accuracy required
